I'd be really curious to hear what you think of New Mutants! I was always going to come at with a very specific lens, but I'd really like to know how it lands with other people. That book sounds like a really cool place to follow up.

As for Dark Phoenix...once again, I'm being hyper specific, but my read on that one in the end is that Jean's big empowering turn isn't able to happen until she forgives Professor X who...kind of abused her?? At least in a fantastical superhero way that can't really be mapped to any real world experience, but it made me uncomfortable. That said, I haven't returned to it since I saw it in theaters, so maybe that's something I can come back to more in the future.
